• The “Analyst, SQL Database” will be based in Chennai, reporting to Manager
• In charge of providing technical administrative and implementations holds up for SQL Databases and the related Business applications. Ensuring ITIL practices are followed diligently at all times.
• Always align the IT services provided with the needs of the Business.
• While the primary focus should be on the stability of the database systems, architecting, design, installation, and setup of the infrastructure are other core controls for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Define, design, implement and hold up enterprise databases systems helping various business application solutions.
• Prepare Standard Operating procedures for the day-to-day maintenance of the databases.
• Implement adequate administrative tools and processes for these enterprise database systems.
• Ensure monitoring and controls are in place to ensure stability of the databases.
• Improve procedures, automation, and deployments in different database systems administrator.
• Ensure to maintenance of database systems, servers and holds up diverse applications.
• Proactive monitoring of enterprise database systems to ensure they are adequately sized to meet the dynamic requirements from the business solutions.
• Ensure proper backup and retention polices are in place to ensure minimum data loss to the business in case of failures.
• Ensure knowledge pertaining to new implementations and technologies are adequately divided into with the team.
• Establish clear communication channels and ensure proper feedback mechanisms are in place with customers, peers, and cross functional teams.
• Adherence to Service level acceptance accord with the Business. Ensure timely reviews with stakeholders.
• Ensure minimum ‘MTTR (Mean time to Repair)’ while fixing problems. Follow-up with proper root cause investigation, corrective & preventive actions with an aim to increase ‘MTBF (Mean time between failures)’.
• Ensure compliance of the systems w.r.t security and SOX requirements.
• Ensure these database systems are always up to date in terms of Security patches.
• Propose system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of the system.
• Make final resolutions on administrative or operational matters and ensure operations’ effective achievement of goals.
• Review goals to define success of operation, involved developing, modifying and executing company policies that affect immediate operations(s) and may also have company-wide effect.

  Qualifications:

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and training.
• Typically requires 6-12 months of related experience.
• Demonstrates a general knowledge of functional concepts and a rudimentary comprehension of Flex policies and procedures.
• Has awareness of DATA BASE, SQL, the functional impact upon work processes and other functions.
